The Story

A flower's halo, an opal's light

On the Gogane halo ring, the outline of the flower is not engraved but set. Ninety-four diamonds trace the silhouette of the Gogane around a white opal, held in a bezel setting that protects it. A workshop piece, designed so that light moves between the center stone and its surround.

The design

The flower as an outline

Here the design of the Gogane, the emblem flower of the house, becomes a halo: its silhouette, drawn in diamonds, surrounds the center stone.

This choice keeps the eye on the opal. The halo does not compete with it; it frames it. Depending on the angle and the light, the surround reads as a fine line or as a continuous sparkle, and the ring changes character through the day.

The stone

A white opal in a bezel setting

The white opal gives the ring its softness: a milky light, very different from the bright sparkle of the diamonds around it.

It is also a delicate stone, sensitive to knocks and sudden changes in temperature. The bezel setting, which surrounds it entirely with a rim of metal, protects its edges and follows its shape without constraining it. It stays visible across its whole surface, with no prongs to interrupt its outline.

The workshop

Ninety-four settings

Each diamond in the halo is set by hand in our Saumur workshop, stone after stone, so that the line stays even across the whole design.

The opal, more delicate, calls for a gesture of its own: the metal of the bezel is gently pushed over its edge, to hold it firmly without strain. This care, invisible once the ring is finished, is what allows it to be worn for years.

Wearing it

Three golds, one light

The ring comes in 18k white, rose or yellow gold (750). White gold extends the clarity of the diamonds; rose and yellow gold warm the halo and bring out the whiteness of the opal.

It is worn on its own, as a centerpiece. To keep it for years, take it off to swim, exercise or apply perfume; our workshop takes care of its upkeep and restoration.

An opal is not set like a diamond: it calls for a gentle hand, and metal that surrounds it completely.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I care for the opal?

Opal is sensitive to knocks and sudden changes in temperature. Take the ring off to swim, exercise or apply perfume, and clean it with a soft cloth. Our workshop provides care and restoration for the piece.

Why a bezel setting?

A bezel setting surrounds the opal with a continuous rim of metal. It protects the edges of the stone from knocks, which suits a gem more delicate than a diamond.

Which golds and sizes are available?

In 18k white, rose or yellow gold (750), in FR sizes 48 to 58 (US 4½ to 8½).

How long does delivery take?

Each piece is made by hand in our workshop in Saumur after you order. Allow 5 weeks for delivery in France and 7 weeks for international delivery, from the date of your order.

Can I cancel my order or exchange a piece?

Yes. You have 30 days from receipt of your piece to cancel your order or exchange it, under the terms set out in articles 3 and 17 of our terms of sale.

What warranty covers my jewelry?

Our jewelry is covered by the two-year legal guarantee of conformity from delivery, as well as the warranty against hidden defects, under the conditions set out in our terms of sale.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes: we ship to the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the European Union. The price shown includes taxes and, outside the European Union, import duties. Insured delivery is free on orders of €1,000 or more; allow 7 weeks from the date of your order. For any question, write to us.

How do I find my ring size?

French ring sizes correspond to the circumference of the finger in millimeters. Measure the base of your finger with a strip of paper, ideally at the end of the day, then refer to the size guide on the product page, which gives indicative US and UK equivalents. If in doubt, write to our workshop.
